Overview
There are currently 12,000 students studying at Cardiff Metropolitan University, which has three campuses in the capital of Wales. These students come from 140 different nations. It was initially established in 1865 as the Cardiff School of Art & Design, and in 2011 it separated from the University of Wales to become a separate institution of higher learning.

The University also gains from its close ties to business and international universities, including the London School of Commerce, the International College of Business and Technology in Sri Lanka, and the Samsung Art & Design Institute.
Cardiff Metropolitan consistently ranks highly in the UK Student Satisfaction survey and has previously been named the best university in the country for living conditions, student support, and overall student experience. After completing their undergraduate studies, 94% of recent graduates were employed or enrolled in additional education.
Services for International Students
The International Office is open all year long to help with issues including lodging, visas, money, and health. International students can receive individual or group English language instruction for academic or general purposes.

Accommodation
Currently, there are roughly 1,000 rooms accessible in university-owned housing, and an additional 700 rooms are available thanks to university partnerships with private halls of residence nearby. International students are given preference when it comes to housing. There are self-catered and en suite rooms as well as catered accommodations available on the Cyncoed Campus. Three kilometres from the heart of Llandaff, the lodging next to the Plas Gwyn campus is entirely en suite and self-catered.
